In the Know – January, 2025 Newsletter

Welcome to 2025
January is a good time to check all your qualifications!

  • Remember to check the calendar and indicate whether you will attend the trainings you are requested for. Make sure to check your secondary positions as well!
  • Don’t forget to check your Task Book for skills that need to be qualified.
  • Go to D4H and look at your profile – are all your classes current?
  • The Task Force explores succession planning during the first part of every year. If you are interested in becoming a squad officer or manager, you application needs to be sent to: programmanager@michiganmabas.us by close of business on February 7, 2025.

MOBEX SCHEDULED

The MOBEX Exercise dates have been set.  Attendance at a MOBEX/ORE is a requirement toward reaching and maintaining deployable status.

This year’s exercise will be focusing on Planning elements (check-in/out, ride-plan, etc.) and Logistics (vehicle inspections, tent set-up, etc.). Some stations are also being developed to offer some basic skills that are not generally covered in classes or regular section training events.

Please go into D4H and sign up to attend ONE of these days:

  • May 1
  • May 6
  • May 8

More details will be posted as they become available.

Michigan Weather Outlook

Although we are living through a deep freeze this week, NOAA is predicting we will return to more normal temperatures, with higher than normal precipitation for February.

Connect Rocket

During the monthly test, everyone gets a text message and an email.  It is important that everyone respond to the notification, but you only have to respond to one of them. It will be recorded regardless of which one you respond to.

When there is a deployment request, connect rocket sends a message to every TF member.  Regardless of your status with the TF, please respond with your availability.  Even if you may not be deploying, you may be requested to help out at the Mob Center.
